STimulated Emission Depletion (STED) Microscopy
MLMC In-Focus: STimulated Emission Depletion (STED) Microscopy is taking place in Montreal!
Date:
July 21-25, 2025. (5 full days)
Venue:
Advanced BioImaging Facility (ABIF)
McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Course Description | Who Should Apply:
The goal of the MLMC In Focus: STED Microscopy course is to provide a deep dive into topics of STED microscopy and build up the community of experts around this technology. Applicants should have a solid foundation in light microscopy, fluorescence microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscopy. It is preferred to have some background experience with STED microscopy theory and some hands-on experience is highly desired. The course also aims to connect STED microscopy users to grow our community of experts and support one another to advanced STED imaging and ensure course participants can rapidly and successfully apply STED imaging to their critical research questions. We are grateful for financial support from the Chan Zuckerberg Imaging Scientists program, the BioImaging North America Professional Development fund and our corporate partners for the course.
The course will be highly interactive with hands-on activities on a variety of microscopes with applications ranging from microscopy standards, quality control and benchmarking to time-resolved fluorescence, multicolour and diverse samples including live cells and tissue slices.
